Clyde River
CLYDE RIVER, CANADA (70.49 N, -68.50 E) The SuperDARN radar at Clyde River began operations on September 30, 2012. It is the third polar radar constructed in the northern hemisphere. In the PI's words: "It holds the record for the highest latitude radar in the northern hemisphere. Its field of view at the first half F region hop matches the center of the field of view of the upcoming RISR-C incoherent scatter radar in Resolute Bay". The engineering crew, Jan Wiid, Kevin Kreiger, and Naas Janse van Rensburg, along with Pasha Ponomarenko are to thank for a successfull construction effort. Dr. Kathryn McWilliams is responsible for the operation of the Clyde River radar. Notes: Up until mid-2018, Dr. Jean-Pierre St.-Maurice was the PI for the Clyde River radar.
